Eric was sitting on the bed in the luxury suite, holding Luna’s hand. After an hour, she was still passed out.

“I don’t know if I can help,” he said. “I’ve never healed a seizure before. Or anything brain-related, for that matter. What if I hurt her? You guys won’t even let me heal you when your hurt from the ring. Why are you trusting me to do this now?” His voice shook.

“That’s different,” Zane said. “In the ring, it’s our own doing. We don’t want you draining your powers when you’re still trying to home in on them. We didn’t want to hurt you if it was too much. This is a life-or-death situation, Eric.” He huffed.

Gunner kneeled next to Luna’s bedside, holding her other hand to his forehead, praying. A knocked on the door brought him from his thoughts.

Jackson answered. “You must be, Roma. Come on in, please.”

“Thank you. The Dreamer is still out?”

“She’s never been out this long,” Jackson said, “from what I understand.”

Gunner held her like he was holding onto a lifeline.

Roma slid over to Luna and touched her head, with her eyes closed. “She’s in a coma.” She turned to Eric. “You. You are a healer wolf, yes?”

“Yes.”

The woman turned her attention to Gunner. “You and your beta are connected to her mind? Am I correct?”

He looked over his shoulder at Roma, who was removing her silk suit jacket.

“Yes,” he replied.

“Good. Alpha and Beta, is she dreaming now?”

“Well…yes,” Gunner said. “But she’s scared. She’s running from me. She’s afraid we are going to kill her.”

“Healer, touch her head with both hands, on each side. You two, Alpha and Beta, connect to her mind and take my hand. I will take the healer into her mind through your connection. You must keep us connected. Do not break the mind link. Understand? Her life depends on your link.”

Roma and Mishka got Eric in position, and both touched him with one hand.

“Alpha and Beta, take our other hands. This will take her whole pack to break her free. Warriors, you are Tribe, correct?”

Jackson and Dawson inched forward. “What can we do?”

“You must make sure Eric does not stop holding her head in his hands, no matter how much he protests. Eric, you know when healing you take on the pain for a period. This pain is in her brain. You will want to grab your head from the headaches. Do not let him drop his hands. If the connection from any of us breaks, she will die. This is from fear. When she wakes up, she will be scared. Just keep calm. We begin.”

“Wait, Roma. If you are trying to harm her, and she dies, I will kill you and your brother where you stand.” Gunner’s body transformed into a half-Lycan state, upright and ferocious.

“Gunner, my son, when this is over, you will thank me. I would never hurt the one I’m sworn to protect.”

Gunner relaxed. “Please save her.”

Shaking, Eric laid his hands on her head. “Come on, Luna,” he whispered in her ear.
